A representative for Gwen Stefani has confirmed Gwen is dating fellow The Voice co-star Blake Shelton.
Following multiple reports the recently divorced musicians had struck up a romantic relationship, a spokesperson for the No Doubt frontwoman confirmed the speculation to Us Weekly on Wednesday , saying, “Gwen and Blake are longtime friends who have very recently started dating.”
The news comes days after the two were photographed getting cosy at multiple Halloween parties in Los Angeles over the weekend, and on Tuesday, Gwen played coy when radio DJ Ryan Seacrest asked about the rumors, as she said, “Who’s Blake?… I do think he’s hot, don’t you?”
In addition to their coaching duties on the U.S. talent show, both singers recently went through highly-publicized break-ups, with Shelton dropping the bombshell he and fellow country superstar Miranda Lambert divorced in July after four years of marriage, and a month later, Gwen announced the end of her 13-year marriage to Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale, with whom she has three sons.
An insider tells Us Weekly Blake is planning on bringing Gwen as his date to after-parties following the 2015 Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday night, when both he and ex-wife Miranda are up for multiple prizes.
Blake previously admitted the ceremony is sure to be uncomfortable, and his pals and awards co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood have to take aim at their summer divorce.
“This year’s gonna be awkward at the CMAs… because we are such a family, everybody there is friends,” he told U.S. late night host Seth Meyers. “There’s gotta be a (joke) about me and Miranda. Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn’t look down there and go, ‘Haha!’ He’s gotta do it! You have to address the elephant in the room.”
The new romance is already influencing Gwen’s art after the stars teamed up to write a country song together.
It has also been revealed that the musicians have been hitting the studio to make sweet music together, and the resulting mid-tempo ballad is a departure from Gwen’s usual rock/pop sound.
“It’s amazing how good she sounds on a pretty country song,” a source tells People.com. “And it sure is good to hear Blake singing real country again.”
The insider claims the track is about a broken relationship, but it has yet to be cut.
