The resurrected L7 are postponing their U.S. and Australian tours until a later date to deal with a family health emergency.
L7 formed in 1985 and released six albums before going on an “indefinite hiatus” in 2001. They announced their reunion on December 10, 2014 with founding members Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner along with Jennifer Finch, who joined in 1987 and Demetra Plakas, who became a member in 1988.
The band posted the following on their website:
A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM THE BAND
L7 regret to announce that due to a family health emergency of a private, non-trivial nature, we will have to postpone our upcoming U.S. and Australian tour dates. Although some of the shows were just very recently announced, LIFE HAPPENS and when it does you have to step up and take care of business for the ones you love.
Speaking of some other ones we love (YOU) … this is just a postponement. We plan to see you in 2016, just a few more months down the line. In the meantime, stay tuned here. We will continue to post fun stuff and read your beautiful and sometimes hilarious comments.
Thanks for your understanding! With much love and appreciation,
L Fuckin’ 7
The cancellations include a planned appearance at SXSW but the band is trying to keep things positive, telling a commenter on Facebook “Yes, with much regret Texas is also postponed. We’ll see you soon though!”
