British pop star Lily Allen is celebrating her 30th birthday by launching a new record label.
Allen unveiled her new project via Twitter.com as she became a thirtysomething on Monday (02May16), revealing she has teamed up with her DJ pal, Thelonious ‘Motive’ Oliver, to found Bank Holiday Records.
“HBD (Happy Birthday) to me!,” she exclaimed. “I have a new record label @BankHolsRecords, @TheoMotive is running it. Follow us, releases coming soon”.
Motive also promoted the new venture on Instagram.com, writing, “@bankholidayrecords is the label, happy birthday @lilyallen & love for having me run things fam… much goodness on the way.”

The pair has yet to announce any signings to the label, which emerges almost 18 months after Lily’s first endeavour as a music executive folded.
The star set up In the Name Of (ITNO) as a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment in 2011 and discovered British singer Tom Odell and American band Cults, but the company closed in November, 2014.
At the time, her spokesman hinted at her new venture, when he told Britain’s The Sun newspaper, “Lily will shortly be announcing a new signing/consulting role for another label… In the meantime she is very happy that Tom Odell’s records will be released on Columbia, who were the distributors for ITNO.”
“Lily had bright hopes but it simply hasn’t worked out…,” a source added. “She hoped by now to have an array of pop talent on her roster but it’s quite the opposite… Three years is enough time to gauge success. It’s just run its course.”
Lily was reportedly given a $146,600 (£100,000) salary as the record label boss.
