Lorde has laughed off claims she didn’t sing live on a TV show, calling them a compliment.
The 19-year-old New Zealand singer performed on US show Saturday Night Live on Saturday (14Nov15), along with British band Disclosure, singing the track Magnets. While fans enjoyed the performance, they suspected the vocals weren’t live, with Lorde taking to Twitter to set the record straight.
“wow – the fact that some people thought i was lip syncing on snl is an awesome compliment!” she posted. “goes without saying i have never/will never haha. (sic)”

It seems the tweet did the job as hoards of fans reacted to the note, with one telling her it must just mean she’s iconic.

Sam Smith was also on the show and the four popstars hung out in New York after filming wrapped. Lorde, who wore her curly hair in a sleek straight do for the show, told followers they’d all gone out for pizza.

“That just happenedlove my brothers so much @disclosure so proud and honoured to have stood on…” he started.
“Just landed back in London x what a lovely few days!! Still on a high from SNL x @disclosure @lordemusic.”

Sam has plenty to smile about at the moment, after his hit debut album In the Lonely Hour was re-released. The 2014 record shot Sam to global fame, and the latest edition includes collaborations with Mary J Blige, ASAP Rocky and John Legend.
“The response to the special edition of my album has been overwhelming,” he gushed. “So happy you’re enjoying ‘Drowning Shadows’.”
