Missy Higgins will lap America in May mounting her first US tour in five years.
“Last time I planned to tour the US, a little accident happened (he is called Samuel Arrow!), so I had to postpone – but now it’s back on and I’m very excited,” said Missy of the upcoming shows. “It will be a really intimate, acoustic tour: just me on the road with a crew guy and my little family in tow. I’ve always loved playing in the U.S. but it’s been a few years, so I can’t wait to reconnect with my American fans,” Missy said.
Earlier this year Missy released ‘Oh Canada’, a song written about the Syrian refugee crisis. The song was inspired by the tragic death of three-year-old Alan Kurdi, whose body was found washed up on a Turkish beach. The accompanying video, created by award-winning director Natasha Pincus and animation director Nicholas Kallincos, was viewed close to a million times within days of its release. All proceeds from the sale of the release are being donated to the Australian Asylum Seekers Resource Centre.
