Motorhead’s Phil Campbell Hospitalised, Shows Cancelled

Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell has been hospitalized with an undisclosed ailment, forcing the postponement or cancellation of three European shows.

Campbell entered the hospital on Friday (November 27) when the band was scheduled to play a Berlin show. That concert has been cancelled after a suitable replacement date could not be found. They posted on their social media:

With great regret, Motörhead have to cancel the sold out show in Berlin today, November 27th. Our brother, guitarist Phil Campbell suddenly required hospitalization. He will be better soon but there is no choice other than to cancel our show in Berlin.

We all wish Phil a speedy recovery,

Lemmy, Mikkey and the Motörhead family.

Please check back, we will get you all information as soon as we have it.
They then postponed their November 28 show at Hamburg’s Sportshalle until December 9, saying “Hamburg show is off today, rescheduled to December 9 at Sporthalle. See you all there. Thank you for all the well wishes for @MotorheadPhil”

Finally, they have cancelled tonight’s show in Aarhus, Denmark but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Kim Kelly from Vice recently posted on Twitter:

It has been a tough few years for Motorhead, with bassist/vocalist Lemmy being hospitalized on a number of occasions, causing entire tour legs to be cancelled.

Campbell has been a member of the band since 1984, replacing Brian “Robbo” Robertson.
