Music Works Grants Announced For Victoria

Courtney Barnett’s Milk Records, Henry Wagons and Beaches are just some of the recipients of the first Music Works grants from the Victorian Government.

Milk Records will receive $15000 for an Australian tour of its artists including Courtney Barnett, Jen Cloher and Fraser A Gorman, Henry Wagons has been granted $17,263 for an international tour and Beaches will receive $10,000 to go towards a new double album ‘Double Good’.

Gorman will also receive $12,860 to record his second album.

The Music Works program is an initiative of the Andrews Labor Government to help nurture and grow contemporary music created in Victoria nationally and globally.

A skills development program by Bad Apples Music, a new Indigenous owned and run record label founded by hip hop artist Briggs that will nurture, develop and provide opportunities for emerging and established Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists
