Olivia Newton-John has done something she’s never accomplished before this week. Olivia is at the top of the Dance Club music chart.
You Have to Believe is a track by producer Dave Audé featuring Newton-John and her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi on a track that mixes in the chorus of Olivia’s 1980 smash Magic from the movie Xanadu.
Newton-John told ETOnline that the new record was all her daughter’s idea. “It was Chloe’s idea to redo Magic. I think she has amazing talent – a beautiful voice, a great songwriter – I’ve been chomping at the bit so everyone could see her. It’s a great opportunity for me to say ‘Yay! Chloe, go!’ And to do one of my songs is a real special treat.”
Now that the song has gone to the top, she adds “I am so excited that this collaboration with my daughter and Dave Audé has reached #1 on the Dance Club Songs chart. It’s fun to have another number one at this point in my career but, I am even more excited that it’s with my daughter and that we get to share this together!”
Lattanzi added “Having had the chance to work with my mom was such a great learning experience. Now add to that being #1 makes it icing on the cake. I’m so proud of being a part of such an amazing team!”
Newton-John isn’t the only veteran artist on this week’s Dance Club chart. Britain’s Faithless is at number 2 with Insomnia 2.0 while Crystal Waters is at 8 with Sted-E and Hybrid Heights on Synergy, Kylie Minogue and Nile Rodgers are at 12 with NERVO and Jake Shears on The Other Boys and Rodgers is back at at 14 with Emin on Boomerang.
