Sam Smith No Longer Looking For Romance

Sam Smith is no longer looking for romance and would rather just “hang out” with someone.

Smith has spoken at length about how he pours his emotions into his songs, many of which focus on heartache. Promotion for his latest track Writing’s On the Wall, for the new James Bond movie Spectre, is keeping him busy at the moment, but once the hype calms down Sam is hoping to dedicate more time to his romantic life.

“Before I’d think I’d want it to be more romantic, but I just want to hang out now,” he told ET of how his perfect date has changed over time. “That’s kind of it, just hang out.

“(It’s difficult because) you maybe don’t know people’s intentions… At the same time I have never had a boyfriend in my life. So I don’t know any different. So that’s kind of a blessing I guess.”

Sam was famously linked to male model Jonathan Zeizel at the end of 2014, after they met on the set of the musician’s music video for Like I Can. However the star previously admitted he made a mistake in suggesting they were more serious than they were by uploading pictures on social media.

Luckily Sam can feel safe in the knowledge that his 007 theme tune is doing extremely well, even earning him a Guinness World Record for becoming the first singer to achieve a number one with a track for the franchise.

“It’s unbelievable,” he added to ET. “You can’t go up from here. In my life, right now, you really can’t. I’m not saying it’s all going to go down, but it’s amazing.

“I actually wrote this before the vocal operation (in May). But I mean it’s very challenging to sing. I’m lucky I don’t have to sing it too many times.”
