The Hollywood Vampires To Perform At The Grammy Awards

The Hollywood Vampires will make their national television debut at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards on February 15 (CBS).

Joining them will be Matt Sorum on drums, Duff Mckagan on bass, Tommy Henriksen on guitar and Bruce Witkin on piano and guitar. While there is no word on what they will perform, they are promising “a special surprise for what will be a highlight of Music’s Biggest Night”.

The Hollywood Vampires, made up of Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry along with occasional big name guests, will expand their debut album with a Deluxe digital version.

Their self titled debut album was released on September 11, 2015 and contained twelve covers of rock classics along with two originals songs. Guests included Brian Johnson, Perry Farrell, Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Robby Krieger, Slash, Kip Winger, Dave Grohl and many more.

The new version of the album adds another original and the first single, Bad As I Am, with Matt Sorum, Duff Mckagen and the core trio. The two covers are the Who’s I’m a Boy, which was only available originally in Japan, and Love’s 7 and 7.

The Hollywood Vampires were originally formed in 1969 on the Sunset Strip in the upstairs bar of the Rainbow Bar & Grill. It was a gathering place for the rock stars living in or passing through L.A. “To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members,” says Alice Cooper, a founding member of the original Vampires along with the likes of Keith Moon, Ringo Starr, Micky Dolenz and Harry Nilsson.

Alice and good friend Johnny Depp got together and decided the spirit of the Hollywood Vampires should live again (minus the drinking). Alice and Johnny were joined by Joe Perry, who is an old friend of both of them, and the recording began: a tribute to the original Hollywood Vampires. An environment was born for great artists to hang, laugh and play together.

The Digital Deluxe version of Hollywood Vampires will be released on February 12.
