The X-Files will return in 2016 in a 6-part miniseries on January 24 with part 2 airing the following night.
The original X-Files ran from 1993-2002. The new series features the original stars David Duchovny as Fox Mulder, Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully and Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner with William B. Davis back as The Smoking Man.
Soundtrack composer Mark Snow is also back for the show’s music.
There has not been a commitment to any more shows after the first six shows air but Duchovny says both he and Anderson would be up for more if the opportunity arises.
