Music Victoria has launches a free Melbourne Music City app.

The app, sponsored by Tourism Victoria and the City of Melbourne, uses your location to refer you to live music venues and music stores near you.
“Music Victoria’s Melbourne Music City is a great guide for those in search of rare vinyl, on the lookout for a venue or upcoming festival, or trying to navigate their way around the vast and rich array of music in Melbourne,” Premier and Minister for the Arts Ted Baillieu said.
Music Victoria CEO Patrick Donovan is urging Melbourne’s music fans to download the app before SLAM Day this Saturday. ”By using the app, you’ll never have to miss a gig or festival again,” he says. “The app technology allows us to update it with new venues and events, so please contact us if you’ve added something to the amazing cultural fabric of Melbourne Music City.”
The Music Victoria Melbourne Music City Guide is available for iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry.
