My Bloody Valentine have finally released their new album, mbv, their first since 1991’s Loveless.

The album has been in the works for a number of months with no announced release date. On Saturday morning, the group used their Facebook page to announce:
We are preparing to go live with the new album/website this evening. We will make an announcement as soon as its up.
Three hours later, they followed with:

Easily the release with the least fanfare in recent memory, the album has nonetheless been anticipated by fans who have waiting for new music for over twenty years. This is only the third full length album released by the group who have been making music since the early-80’s. Isn’t Anything was released in 1988 followed by the previously mentioned Loveless.
The album is available in three configurations, 180 gram vinyl/CD/digital download, CD/digital download and digital download. As for the downloads, they can be obtained in three different formats, 16bit 44.1 K WAV file (cd quality), 320kbps MP3 and 24bit 96 K WAV file.
While the album is available by download, the vinyl and CD versions will lag slightly behind as the group says they are still finishing the artwork.
