Nathan Sykes Sings Again With His Wanted Bandmates

Nathan Sykes has called his comeback “amazing”.The Wanted singer has been missing from the band while he recovers from a “haemorrhaging nodule” on his vocal cords.

Yesterday the 20-year-old took to the stage at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium, London, to sing for the first time since his operation in April.

“Amazing day. Been a tough couple months. Thanks everyone (sic)” he posted on Twitter after the show.

At the concert on Sunday bandmates Siva Kaneswaran, Max George, Jay McGuiness and Tom Parker teased the audience Nathan wasn’t well enough to perform.

The cheeky star then bounded out on stage and belted out a solo to The Wanted’s hit I Found You.

Whereas the 80,000-strong crowd loved Nathan’s performance, the singer himself has been too nervous to listen to a recording yet.

“If I’m going to come back I wanted it to go smoothly and if I am going to come back it might as well be at Wembley. We wanted to try and do something special, but I haven’t heard it back yet – it might have sounded terrible!” he laughed to UK TV show Daybreak.

The bad news about his vocal cords coincided with Nathan’s 20th birthday in April.

Nathan spoke out about how difficult the past few months have been.

‘I can’t remember my birthday ‘ the whole thing was under general anaesthetic. I’ve hardly spoken for months, let alone had the chance to sing. It’s been like breaking a bone,” he said, according to British newspaper The Sun.

‘I’ve had the full recovery and physio to take care of. There was a spell during this when I thought it was all over ‘ but thankfully I’m back.’

The Wanted were the first on stage last night and performed hits including All Time Low and latest single Walks Like Rihanna.
