A Swedish promoter has promoted a festival appearance by Nazareth by saying it will be their last show.
Bassist Pete Agnew has gone on the band’s site to tell all of their fans that this is absolutely not true:
OFFICIAL STATEMENT
It has been brought to my attention that it has been advertised for a Swedish festival that it will be Nazareth’s last show and it might be everyone’s last chance to see the band. This is, of course, a load of rubbish and I don’t know where these clowns get their stories from.
It won’t be the first time that promoters used these tactics to improve ticket sales and it won’t be the last.
I see on Facebook that some of you believed this and now the rumors start to fly, which only harms the band. As I’ve said before, if any big decision concerning the band is being made it will be announced by us on our website.
The latest news from us is that we are currently in SUB STATION STUDIO recording a new album. We will work through May then go on tour to USA and Canada for two months, after which we’ll return to the studio to complete the project.
Best wishes to all & keep Rockin’
Pete
The band’s only Swedish appearance this year is at the Helgeafestivalen Kristianstad Festival although it is not clear if this is the show that is being referenced. They have at lease eleven dates scheduled for after that show.
