Neil Finn Quits Social Media After Christchurch

by Paul Cashmere on March 18, 2019

in News

Neil Finn is removing himself from social media following the terrorist attack by an Australian white supremacist in Christchurch, New Zealand last week.

Finn has been an active user of social media to communicate with fans but will no longer contribute to the platforms saying “These platforms have enabled the spread of hateful ideology and I will not participate anymore”.

Neil commented on the attack on Friday saying, “Waking up to awful news from home, the full extent of the horror that unfolded in Christchurch. So sad for the victims and families, the whole community, all the good people of Christchurch. Our love and thoughts are with you.”

Neil Finn is currently on tour with Fleetwood Mac. He was added to the band’s line-up on 9 April, 2018 after the departure of Lindsey Buckingham. Neil’s most recent album was ‘Lightsleeper’ with his son Liam.
