Neil Young’s lost album of the 70s ‘Hitchhiker’ has found a release date for 8 September.

The album was recorded in one day in Malibu in 1976 by producer David Briggs. Most songs from the album ended up on Neil Young albums over the next five years but two tracks ‘Hawaii’ and ‘Give Me Strength’ will surface for the first time in this album (although they are easily found on YouTube).

The title track from ‘Hitchhiker’ was eventually released as ‘Like An Inca’ on Neil’s 1982 album Trans. Here is the original version from the new album.

Hitchhiker Tracklist:
01. Pocahontas
02. Powderfinger
03. Captain Kennedy
04. Hawaii
05. Give Me Strength
06. Ride My Llama
07. Hitchhiker
08. Campaigner
09. Human Highway
10. The Old Country Waltz
