Neil Young’s manager Elliot Roberts has confirmed that reality TV star Donald Trump illegally used Young’s anthem ‘Rocking In The Free World’ to announce his run for US Presidency and that Trump will be receiving a Cease and Desist letter from Young’s lawyer.
Trump, the US billionaire who is best known outside America for his starring role in the reality show The Apprentice’, announced his intention to run for President and then threw to the Neil Young song.
The irony of Trump using ‘Rocking In The Free World’ is about conservatives like Trump and uses the line ‘Thousand points of light’ from a George Bush speech to highlight the corruption of contemporary America.
Young would continue his musical attack on the next Bush with his 2006 album ‘Living With War’.
Young has announced that he will back Democrat senator Bernie Sanders for the 2016 US presidential election.
