New George Michael music from the stars final sessions will premiere later today (7 September 2017).

BBC 2 Breakfast Show presenters Chris Evans will play the new George Michael Song at 9 am UK time (6 pm East Coast Australia).

George Michael was working on new music with Nile Rodgers at the time of his death on Christmas Day, 2016. Rodgers had recently tweeted that the music “sounds unreal”.

Today he tweeted:

George’s sisters Melanie and Yioda (who refer to their brother as Yog) updated his official website yesterday with these words:

“We believe that through all the “debris”, Yogs fans, his “lovelies” all around the world, know who he truly was, and is, after shared decades of music, love, humour.

“Our aim is to carry on, as we know Yog would have wanted, to share and enjoy his precious legacy and to continue to bring you joy – through his extraordinarily beautiful music.

“David, along with Yog’s loyal creative team, will continue bringing you all the projects they had been working so hard on for you, exactly as Yog would have wanted…

“We promise we will always try to honour him by staying true to his ambitions and his intentions.”

Since George’s death, numerous unreleased songs have surfaced online:
