Nick Carter will be one of the celebrity contestants on this season’s Dancing With the Stars.
Entering its 21st competition, the show is revealing their new cast one person per day on Good Morning America with Carter being one of the latest announcement. Also revealed so far are Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late nature show host Steve Irwin and triple-crown winner Victor Espinoza. Cooking show host and writer Paula Dean is also part of the cast, according to Us Magazine, but has not been officially announced.
Carter was one of the original five members of the Backstreet Boys when they formed in 1993. Only 12, he already had recorded covers of songs before joining the group. Although they had two minor hits in 1995, they broke out the next year with the hit Quit Playing Games (With My Heart) (1996 / #2) and followed with six more top twenty hits before going on hiatus in 2001.
Nick went on to record two solo albums, Now or Never (2002) and I’m Taking Off (2011) and guest starred in a number of television shows along with his own reality show House of Carter. He has also struggled with both drug and alcohol abuse.
