Nick Lowe To Return To Australia in 2020

Nick Lowe is coming back to Australia for a 2020 tour in February.

Lowe will tour with Los Straitjackets, who perform in Lucha Libre fighting masks.

Nick Lowe started off his career with some tongue in cheek titles. His 1977 EP ‘Bowi’ was a joke after David Bowie released the album ‘Low’. The Lowe produced album ‘Max’ by the Rumour was a swipe at Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumours’.

Nick kicked into solo mode with ‘Cruel To Be Kind’ which landed him a no 12 on the US chart. Along the way he dropped another classic in ‘Whats So Funny About Peace Love and Understanding’. The song was covered by Elvis Costello and again by Curtis Stigers for ‘The Bodyguard’ soundtrack.

Another Lowe moment was his short-lived supergroup Little Village with John Hiatt, Ry Cooder and Jim Keltner. The four piece recorded a one-off album after first grouping for Hiatt’s ‘Bring The Family’.

Nick Lowe dates

16 February, Sydney, Enmore
18 February, Melbourne, Forum
19 February, Brisbane, The Tivoli
21 February, Perth, Astor Theatre
23 February, Adelaide, The Gov
