American Idol gets its fourth judge in the form of Nicki Minaj, alongside Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban.
Mere days ago Keith Urban revealed that he wouldn’t be continuing on with the second season of The Voice Australia, then was swiftly added to American Idol.
Now, it has been confirmed via an Instagram snap on host Ryan Seacrest’s Twitter page that shock-rapper Nicki Minaj completes the Idol quartet of judges following the departure of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.
Clearing up the rumours, the photo’s caption read: “It’s official, your new #IdolJudges are @MariahCarey, @NickiMinaj, @Keith Urban and @Yo_RandyJackson!”
The twelfth season of American Idol will air in January 2013. The winner of last year’s season was Georgia-born singer-songwriter Phillip Phillips, whose first single ‘Home’ had the highest digital sales week for any Idol winner’s debut, broke the top 10 and went platinum in the US.
