Nicki Minaj has thanked her fans for their “unwavering love” as she celebrates the first anniversary of her album The Pinkprint.
On 15 December 2014 the rapper released her third record, which spawned hits like Pills n Potions and Anaconda. Nicki’s Twitter was taken over by excited followers on Tuesday (15Dec15), as they celebrated one year of her popular album.
“#1YearOfThePinkprint ~ My beloved fans just reminded me that Dec 15th is the anniversary of my 3rd album,” she wrote to them on Instagram. “I don’t know how u guys always keep track of these things for me but I appreciate u more than you will ever understand. U know how emotional this one was, I really can’t imagine where I’d be w/o your unwavering love & support. To all the artists & media who supported as well, thank you. (sic)”
The star also retweeted several messages from her admirers, recalling the first time they heard the record, with many saying the songs made them cry. Nicki has always gone down well with fans thanks to her forthright attitude. Recently she was quizzed about the beef between her boyfriend Meek Mill and friend Drake, with the New York Times Magazine asking if she enjoyed the drama.
“That’s disrespectful,” she fired back. “Why would a grown-ass woman thrive off drama?
“That’s the typical thing that women do. What did you putting me down right there do for you? Women blame women for things that have nothing to do with them. I really want to know why – as a matter of fact, I don’t. Can we move on, do you have anything else to ask? To put down a woman for something that men do, as if they’re children and I’m responsible, has nothing to do with you asking stupid questions, because you know that’s not just a stupid question. That’s a premeditated thing you just did.”
