We won’t be hearing any new news about Ian Molly Meldrum today and that’s good news.
Molly is expected to continue to spend the next 24-48 hours in an induced coma before doctors wake him but everything is going as well as can be expected.
Molly’s brother Brian, his great friend and confidante Yael Cohn and our pal Rina Ferris have been in constant contact with the doctors about Molly.
Rina tells me that Yael has spent a lot of time in the room with Molly and is reading him your messages via Twitter, Facebook and emails.
When doctors are convinced the swelling in Molly’s brain has gone down they will bring him out of the coma. Only then will they be able to attend to his other injuries including broken ribs, shoulder and vertebrae.
More good news is that Molly’s neck is okay and was not broken in the fall.
Friends of Molly should note that only Yael and Brian are allowed into the room. Molly’s condition is still listed as critical. No-one else can be allowed in to see him.
It should also be understood that after he comes out of the coma it will be a long time before he recovers but there is no reason why he won’t. It is expected that Molly will be in hospital for months.
We’ll kept you updated to Molly’s condition if anything changes.
