Noel Gallagher picked up Outstanding Song Collection Award award yesterday at the Ivor Novello Awards saying exactly why he thought the awards hold such a special place in the music industry.
“You don’t get clowns like One Direction here, because its not about what clothes you wear, who you’re shagging, how nimble you are on stage, it’s actually about the nuts and bolts of it, it’s about writing songs… it’s the songs that last forever”.
Asked if he would ever write for One Direction Noel replied, “No… I’ve got enough money.”
On the Mancini sacking at his beloved Manchester City he commented, “I thought it was a bit harsh, but when you own the club, when you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go”.
On the future he said, “I’ll always be writing songs. Whenever I get 5 minutes I’m fiddling about on the guitar, it’s what I do. I’ll always be writing songs, I may not write as many as I used to and they may not be as good but I’ll still enjoy it!”
