Norah Jones releases tracks, artwork, title and release date for her new Danger Mouse-produced album.
Her new album will be titled Little Broken Hearts and will feature twelve new songs written with her producer Brian Burton, AKA Danger Mouse, with whom she worked on the Rome project alongside Jack White.
She says the album cover was inspired by old grindhouse movie posters that lined Burton’s studio, particularly one for Russ Meyer’s exploitation classic Mudhoney. She said in a press release, “I always was looking at it and thinking ‘That’s so cool, I want to look like her!’ I remember staring at the poster the whole time we made the record. It’s a great visual.”
The multi-Grammy Award-winner will air the songs for the first time at Austin, Texas’ music conference South By Southwest. She’s also booked US, European and UK shows, already selling out two Royal Festival Hall gigs in London.
Little Broken Hearts will be released on Blue Note/EMI on April 27.
