Normie Rowe, Colleen Hewett and Johnny Young will perform together for two shows in Melbourne in February.

The three Australian music icons have combined recorded over a dozen hits dating back to the mid 60s.

Normie Rowe has 11 Top 40 hits between 1965 and 1968 including the number one songs ‘Que Sera Sera’ (1965) and ‘Oh La La’ (1966).

Johnny Young was one of Australia’s most prolific songwriters in the 60s and 70s. He wrote ‘Smiley’ for Ronnie Burns (no. 2, 1970) and ‘The Real Thing’ for Russell Morris (no 1, 1969).

Young also scored his own Top 40 hits with ‘Step Back/Cara-Lyn’ (no 2, 1966), ‘Let It Be Me’ (no. 4, 1966), ‘When Will I Be Loved’ (no. 4, 1966), ‘All My Loving’ (no. 9, 1967), ‘Lady’ (no 37, 1967), ‘Craise Finton Kirk’ (no. 25, 1967) and ‘It’s a Sunny Day’ (no 29, 1968).

Johnny Young – Cara Lynn

Colleen Hewett first hit was a cover of Leon Russell’s ‘Superstar’ in 1971. She also charted with ‘Day By Day’ (n0 2, 1971), ‘Carry That Weight’ (no. 2, 1972), ‘Dreaming My Dreams With You’ (no 2, 1979) and ‘The Wind Beneath My Wings’ in 1983, six years before Bette Midler made it a global hit in ‘Beaches’.

Normie Rowe, Colleen Hewitt and Johnny Young will perform together at Crown Casino, Melbourne on February 14 and 15.
