The Bay City Rollers are coming back to Australia in July but don’t be confused by the name, it is just one of them.
Les McKeown is the last man standing in Bay City Rollers and continues to use the name.
Derek Longmuir retired from the music industry in the 1980s and was working as a nurse at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary until he was firmed in 2000 for possession of child pornography. It was later revealed that he had been framed by an obsessed fan.
John ‘Woody’ Wood lives in Edinburgh and is a successful producer. In 2007 he produced the debut album for The MacDonald Brothers. It reached no 18 in the UK and no 1 in Scotland.
Alan Longmuir (Derek’s brother) left the band in 1976. He was replaced by Pat McGlynn.
Pat McGlynn has also gone to ground. He did write Scotland’s Eurovision entry song ‘So Much Of Your Love’ in 1993 and was arrested (but later cleared) of drug charges in 2005 (in the company of Les McKeown.

Bay City Rollers has 10 Top 40 hits in the UK starting with ‘Keep On Dancing’ in 1971. They broke in Australia in 1974 with ‘Shang-A Lang’.
‘Bye Bye Baby’ was the only no 1 for Bay City Rollers in Australia.
