‘Hiatus’ is the music industry term for “split until we get a better offer”.

Like most boyband formats who barely last through their 5 Seconds of Fame, One Direction’s appeal has waned considerably in the recent years. Tickets for the last Australian tour were so slow that the dreaded two-for-one kicked to same face and fill empty seats.
In Australia, One Direction’s most recent song ‘Drag Me Down’ fell out of the Top 10 in the third week after debuting at no 1 with 30,766 sales, dropping to no 2 in week two with 11,817 sales and this week coming in at 11 with 7,318 sales.
In Australia this week One Direction highest selling album ‘Four’ is at no 249 with just 107 sales.
One Direction were a manufactured act cooked up with music Frankenstein Simon Cowell in 2010 for The X Factor UK.
