Pretty faces on screen help boy band sensation One Direction hit the top of the DVD charts and go six times platinum.
It’s a sad week for former teen idol Justin Bieber. His new single ‘Die In Your Arms’ debuted at a paltry 31 this week on the ARIA Singles Chart, while the new kids on the block (so to speak) sold six times platinum of their first DVD.
The audiovisual companion piece to One Direction’s Up All Night album, the live tour DVD is a 73-minute concert, as well as behind the scenes footage and three of their music videos.
This DVD trumps even their massively successful album, which has sold triple platinum, their five times platinum single ‘What Makes You Beautiful’, and their double-platinum single ‘One Thing’.
The fivesome are currently finishing off a US tour, and are going to be working on writing and recording their second album. The pop king is dead, long live the pop kings.
