British legends Status Quo have played the first of a series of shows with their classic “Frantic Four” lineup in thirty years at the O2 Apollo in Manchester (Wednesday, March 6).

Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan were together in the group from 1970 to 1976, the period that saw such classic albums as Piledriver and On the Level. All of the songs in the set came from that period in Quo history although they avoided all but two (Down Down (1974 / #1), Rain (1976 / #7)) of their biggest hits including Paper Plane (1972 / #8), Caroline (1973 / #5), Break the Rules (1974 / #8) and Roll Over Lay Down (1975/#9).
