Otis Redding Debut Reisssued For Record Store Day

Rhino will release a special 50th Anniversary vinyl edition of Otis Redding’s debut album, Pain in My Heart, for Record Store Day.

Pain in My Heart was originally released in 1964 on Atco via an agreement with Volt/Stax, peaking at 103 on the Albums chart. The music, which was recorded in 1962 and 1963, included the hits These Arms of Mine (1962 / #85 Pop / #20 R&B), That’s What My Heart Needs (1963 / #27 R&B) and Pain in My Heart (1963 / #61 Pop / #11 R&B).

The album will be released with the original LP artwork and was sourced from the original mono master tapes by Bernie Grundman.

Only 5,000 individually numbered copies are being produced.
