Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne must fork up £300,000 to repair their flooded mansion.
The spouses own a seven-acre property in the Buckinghamshire region of England. The UK has experienced the wettest rain season on record this winter, and Ozzy shares his grief over how much damage the weather has done to their estate.
“It’s been completely flooded,” he told British newspaper The Mirror. The rain has battered down the walls and seeped through everything. There is water everywhere. We’ve been told it’s going to cost £300,000 to repair but we can’t even go about getting it fixed because apparently it’s going to take nine months to dry out. The place is ruined. If it’s not one thing, it’s the other.”
Sharon says she is also saddened by their ‘destroyed’ home, and the couple will base themselves at their Los Angeles residence until repairs are made.
Sharon and her Black Sabbath rocker husband have experienced several home-related tragedies in recent years. Their Beverly Hills, California mansion caught fire twice in 2013.
The first blaze, which took place in January, occurred while the pair were sleeping. As they laid in bed, a lit candle exploded in its glass vase and sparked a small fire in their living room. Ozzy injured his hand while trying to extinguish the flames and he also singed his hair.
The second fire apparently happened in August while Ozzy was cooking a breakfast sandwich in his kitchen. “Shortly before bedtime, he went to make himself a little snack,” a source told The Mirror around the time of the alleged incident. “Unfortunately, when frying the bacon, he managed to set light to the pan and triggered the smoke alarm.”
