Paolo Nutini Blocks Damon Albarn From Top Of UK Chart

Paolo Nutini’s Caustic Love’ has kept the debut solo album from Damon Albarn’ from reaching number one on the UK chart.

Nutini’s ‘Caustic Love’ is spending its third week on top of the English album chart after selling more than 190,000 albums, according to the Official Charts Company in the UK.

‘Caustic Love’ is the fastest selling album in the UK so far this year, with 109,000 sales in the first week and 198,000 sales after three weeks.

The former Blur frontman was tipped to take the top spot this week but he came in at number two with his album ‘Everyday Robots’, behind Nutini but ahead of Imelda May ‘Tribal’.

Paloma Faith ‘A Perfect Contradiction’ is at number 4 in England and Embrace ‘Embrace’ is at number 5.

The Pixies also made the Top 10 at number 6 with ‘Indy Candy’ .

Australia’s Brody Dalle also made her solo debut with ‘Diploid Love’ at 33.
