Paris Jackson Talks About Her Final Days With Grandfather

Paris Jackson has shared how she spent the “last few moments” with her grandfather Joe Jackson before he died on Wednesday.

The Jackson family patriarch passed away in a Las Vegas hospice on Wednesday at the age of 89 following a battle with pancreatic cancer, and his granddaughter Paris shared that she was with him until the very end in a touching post on Instagram.

Besides a slideshow of old pictures of Joe and one showing her holding hands with him on a hospital bed, Michael Jackson’s daughter wrote a lengthy message about “The Hawk”, her nickname for Joe, and recalled how they spent their last time together.

“Spending those last few moments with you were everything. being able to tell you everything i needed to tell you before saying goodbye was such a blessing,” she wrote. “Being able to hold your hand, lay with you and cuddle you, give you kisses all over your cheeks and forehead, meant more to me than you’ll ever know.

“Quoting advice you gave me when i was a little kid and seeing your eyes light up, sharing stories my dad used to tell me about you, telling a joke and hearing you laugh for the last time.. my heart is full knowing we left each other in that way.”

The 20-year-old continued to praise her grandfather, adding that everyone who came to visit was so proud to be part of the Jackson family and the entertainment dynasty he created.

Calling him “the first true jackson” and the “legend that started it all”, Paris said none of the Jacksons, including Janet, La Toya and Jermaine, would be “anywhere near where we’re at” without him, and his life’s work will go down in history.

“I promised you that we will keep telling your story, over and over,” she concluded. “To never be forgotten. my great grandchildren will know who joseph jackson is. i love you grandpa. so so so much that words can’t describe. i have immense gratitude for you, and always will. we all feel that way. thank you for everything. truly. rest in peace and transition. i’ll see you in my dreams very very soon.”
