Loverboy lead guitarist Paul Dean will release his first solo work in 21 years.
Dean’s last solo album was ‘Blackstone’ in 1997. He had two albums prior to that in 1989 and 1995.
Dean’s new song ‘Be With You’ is actually an old song. He has had it kicking around for over a decade when Loverboy were recording their ’Just Getting Started’ album.
‘Be With You’ is Mexican influenced. “It’s a huge change musically for me from what I do with the band,” said Dean. “It reminds me of Loverboy’s debut album in its stylistic diversity, because each of the songs is so different. I just wrote what I was feeling and what I loved to hear and perform. It’s totally meant to be danced to, especially ‘Be With You’.”
Loverboy will turn 40 in 2019. Paul Dean co-founded the band in 1979 in Calgary, Canada.
The band had a global hit with their debut song ‘Turn Me Loose’.
