Paul McCartney has been spreading the Christmas spirit in his recent shows performing his Christmas classic ‘Wonderful Christmastime’.

Seeing ‘Wonderful Christmastime’ is indeed rare for McCartney fans. He has only performed the song solo 14 times since 2009 and prior to that played it 19 times in concert during the very last Wings tour.

This year Paul McCartney has played ‘Wonderful Christmastime’ three times, in London, Glasgow and Liverpool.

McCartney released ‘Wonderful Christmastime’ as a single backed with ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reggae’ in 1979. The track was included on the 1993 CD issue of Wings ‘Back To The Egg’ and also added to Disc 2 of the special and deluxe editions of ‘McCartney II’ in 2011.

The song was written during the ‘McCartney II’ sessions. No members of Wings played on the song but they appear in the video.
