Sir Paul McCartney has worked with both Sir George Martin and his son Giles Martin.
Giles is a co-producer of Paul’s new album ‘New’ and Sir Paul spoke about the two Martins in his first Twitter chat this week.
He said they were “Similar: Both very musical and smart.” They were also “Different: Giles comes from a younger generation and has a more contemporary approach”.
Giles Martin remastered classic Beatles songs for the ‘Love’ show in Las Vegas. He co-produced ‘New’ with Mark Ronson, Ethan Johns and Paul Epworth.
Considering the album was called ‘New’ McCartney didn’t have anything new to say but did mention how he heard that rumour a year ago that he was going to work with Bob Dylan but neither Bob nor Paul “picked up on it”. (read the full transcript here)
