Paul McCartney Gets His Band On The Run

Paul McCartney is back on the road after postponing his Out There tour in Japan due to ill health in May.

McCartney resumed work in Albany, New York on Saturday night with the same setlist he has been playing every night on the Out There tour with the exception of the first time played ‘On My Way To Work’ from his ‘New’ album.

Sir Paul did play matchmaker during the show. One fan held up a sign reading “He won’t marry me until he meets you.” Her partner’s sign read, “I have a ring and I’m 64”. Paul invited them on age and played a piece of ‘When I’m 64’ for the marriage proposal.

Paul McCartney’s 1984 movie ‘Give My Regards To Broad Street’ was universally panned in its day. The production, 100% funded by Paul, became a money pit. It lost him millions, had hideous reviews and now both the movie and soundtrack album have been long out of print. But was it that bad? Actually no. I thought it was much better than The Beatles ‘Magical Mystery Tour’.

Eighty two. Paul McCartney is 82. (Well, I guess it makes a change to referring to the good Sir as an ex-Beatle). Now, where was I? Oh yes, in Santiago, Chile, at the Estadio Monumental, watching this magnificent human perform to and thrill thousands of people. It is always heartwarming to see multi generations singing along to all the songs at a Paul McCartney show. More impressively here, because most people speak only Spanish.
