Pearl Jam put an Australian flavour into their Sydney setlist on Australia Day with a cover of Hunters & Collectors classic ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’.
This wasn’t the first time Eddie Vedder has performed the Australian classic. He first played it in 2006 with the songwriter Mark Seymour.
Vedder last performed the song at one of his solo shows in London on July 31, 2012.
Pearl Jam have performed ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’ as a band 21 times. Eddie Vedder has played it in concert as a solo artist 33 times.

The Pearl Jam Sydney setlist also included covers of Neil Young’s ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’, MC5’s ‘Kick Out The Jams’ (also performed in Melbourne on Friday), and Mother Love Bone’s ‘Chloe Dancer’ and ‘Crown Of Thorns’. Mother Love Bone was Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard’s band perform Pearl Jam. Mother Love Bone was together for the short period 1988-1990.
