Perth venue Matisse Beach Club has apologised to Mark Ronson fans after falsely advertising a Ronson DJ set for the Winter Funk Fest on Saturday.
Mark Ronson took a very public swipe at Perth venue Matisse Beach Club for falsely advertising that he would appear.
The club has now refunded all ticket purchasers and said sorry for the stuff-up via a post on Facebook.
“Matisse would like to formally and sincerely apologise to all those affected by the events that occurred yesterday in relation to our Winter Funk Fest.
“All ticket and package holders will receive a full refund, and this has been actioned by our ticketing agent for processing. All ticket holders have been contacted via email”.
The club blames a dodgy promoter for the embarrassing situation.
“Matisse are angered by the position our customers and ourselves have been put in by the third party booking agent and promoter who sold us this appearance,” they posted.
“We can assure you that as soon as we became aware of the situation we immediately contacted all ticket holders prior to the event via email”.
An investigation is now underway to find out what happened.
“We are fully investigating the matter and will take appropriate action based on our findings. For this reason we are unable to comment further.
“Again we would like to apologise to our customers, Mark Ronson and his management, and our event sponsors for the inconvenience caused”.
Ronson was listed for an in-person DJ set at Matisse Beach Club for last Saturday night. He called out the as gig ‘fake’ on Twitter and told fans they should get their money back. He also offered any fans that bought tickets to the fake gig free tickets to his next Perth show.
“FOR THIS FAKE GIG IN PERTH LAST NIGHT, U SHOULD ALL DEFINITELY GET UR MONEY BACK. HATE 2 C MY PEOPLE GET RIPPED OFF.” Ronson tweeted.
Matisse Beach Club billed the event as ‘Winter Funk Fest Feat. Mark Ronson – DJ Set’.
