Peter Garrett was back on stage with his Midnight Oil mates Jim Moginie and Rob Hirst to sing for Doc Neeson.
The Rock The Doc concert was a benefit concert for The Angels lead singer Doc Neeson who was diagnosed with a brain tumour over Christmas. Doc has been undergoing treatment ever since.
The members of Midnight Oil and The Angels sang ‘We Got To Get Out Of This Place’ at the show.
The Rock The Doc concert at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney last night brought together the Who’s Who of Australian rock and roll including members of Cold Chisel, Dragon, Mi-Sex, Noiseworks and Rose Tattoo.
‘It is an embarrassment of riches. Everybody wanted to do it,” Angry Anderson said backstage. “It is about Doc’s friends celebrating his life,” he said.
“I think the fact that you play with people when you are starting out and you see them doing it rough, you do end up with a bond,” the Hon. Peter Garrett, formerly of Midnight Oil said.
The concert raised over $200,000 to go to Doc’s treatment.
