Following his appearance with Daft Punk at the Grammys, Pharrell Williams is playing at another awards night.
The singer is nominated for an Academy Award in the best song category with his track Happy, which features in family film Despicable Me 2.
Now it’s been announced that the musician will also take to the stage to belt out the hit for the audience on March 2.
He is up against Let It Go from Disney’s Frozen, The Moon Song from Her and U2’s Ordinary Love, which is on the soundtrack to Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
Despite his success, Pharrell has remained down to earth.
Ed Sheeran met the star at the Grammy Awards and couldn’t believe how easy it was to get along with him.
“We had fun, he’s a nice guy,” the 22-year-old told ET Online. “He’s such a humble guy. He doesn’t really take compliments. He just brushes them off and kind of carries on talking about stuff.”
Fans will be eagerly waiting to see what Pharrell, 40, will wear for his Oscars show.
At the Grammys he donned a huge hat, which instantly got fashion critics in a buzz.
However, Pharrell insists any musician worth their salt would love the headgear.
“Sure, I could see John [Lennon] in his painted Rolls Royce… when he was going through his moment of Eastern religion. You know, that spiritual trek and journey that they went through – I can see him doing that,” he told Entertainment Tonight when asked whether he thinks the Beatles would have liked the hat.
