Phil Collins Was No Show For Benefit

When Phil Collins announced that he would be performing at the benefit concert for Little Dreams, the music world thought they were finally going to see the singer come out of retirement from the concert stage.

Even after he assured people that it would only be three or four songs and not a full show, there was still excitement in the air.

Unfortunately, Collins ended up performing no songs. The singer has a “neurological affliction”, one that affects him occassionally, and that, even though he had worked with doctors for the previous two days, he was unable to sing.

Collins announced the change on-stage Saturday night at the Fillmore Miami Beach and, even though he was urged by fans to sing anyway, he told them “Trust me, you wouldn’t enjoy it.”

Phil has not performed a full show live in four years and has been in a semi-permanent retirement. He did sing with a school based group earlier in the year at a small benefit.

Still performing at the Little Dreams benefit were the Little Dreamers Performers, Collins’ song Luke and his band The Lost, Italian singer Gigi D’Alessio, Alejandra Guzman, Richard Marx and Laura Pausini.
