Phil Rudd Arrest Will Not Stop AC/DC

by Roger Wink, VVN Music on November 7, 2014

in News

AC/DC has released a statement saying that they will continue on with the release of their new album, Rock or Bust, and their tour despite the arrest of drummer Phil Rudd in a murder for hire scheme.

Rudd was arrested at his New Zealand home on Thursday.

We’ve only become aware of Phil’s arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year.

Rudd was released from jail after posting bail. According to New Zealand’s The Sun, he must live at home, not have contact with any of the principals in the scheme and not go to a specified part of the city where he lives. Names of those that Rudd tried to have killed or the people he tried to hire have not been released. He will next appear in court on November 27.

Rudd is charged with trying to “procure a murder” sometime on September 25 or 26, threatening to kill a person on September 26 and possession of cannabis and methamphetamines found during his arrest yesterday.
