AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has put his New Zealand on the market for $NZ4.1 million.
The house at 64 Harbour Drive, Otumoetai has six bedrooms, five bathrooms, four living areas, two kitchens, a five-car garage and a swimming pool.
Rudd built the house as two luxury apartments but modified it to operate as one house. The sale is for both apartments (units 1 & 2) comprising of the entire property.
The Rudd house is across the street from New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty with views of Mount Maunganui, Tauranga Harbour and Matakana Island. It is situated three minutes from the city of Tauranga CBD.
The AC/DC session took place at Warehouse Studios in Vancouver in August. The studio is owned by Bryan Adams. AC/DC recorded ‘Stiff Upper Lip’, ‘Black Ice’ and ‘Rock or Bust’ at Warehouse Studios. It has also been used by Muse (Drones), REM (Reveal, Around The Sun) and, of course, Adams’ albums. Adams bought the property at 100 Powell St in Vancouver in 1989. The building was built in 1886 as housed Vancouver’s first grocery business.
Singer Brian Johnson also appears to be back with AC/DC for the 2019 AC/DC album sessions. Angus dumped him during the last tour and replaced him with Axl Rose.
Angus and Malcolm Young’s nephew Stevie was also at the sessions. Stevie replaced his uncle Malcolm Young for the last album ‘Rock or Bust’ and subsequent tour.
