Phil Rudd of AC/DC says he isn’t out of the band just yet.
It’s unclear whether he is welcome or not, but drummer Phil Rudd has vowed that he is going back to work with AC/DC.
First, though, he will have to get his legal problems resolved. Rudd can’t travel at the moment because of pending charges of threatening to kill an unnamed associate and his daughter on September 26 and possession of marijuana and methamphetamine that were found when police searched his house during the investigation. Another charge of trying to procure a hired killer have been dropped for lack of evidence.
Rudd claims that the threatening charges are baseless, telling New Zealand’s One News “This has just been a big ball of cheese, and all the rats are gathering and having a piece. That’s just life. But that’s not who I am.”
Rudd’s plans are to get the problems behind him and rejoin AC/DC. “Everyone listens to the wrong people. They should listen to me. I’m a good guy – and a pretty good drummer, by the way. Ask Angus; he’ll tell you.
“I’m going back to work with AC/DC – and I don’t care who likes it and who doesn’t.”
AC/DC will start their world tour in Holland in May.
