Phil Tripp, the SXSW representative for Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii, has left SXSW after 17 years.
In a statement to Noise11.com Phil said the departure is amicable and “I wish them all the best in the future”.
Tripp began working for SXSW 17 years ago. He built the Australian business up to become the sixth biggest delegation for the Austin music conference and festival.
As a result of Phil’s departure the previously announced Meet ‘N’ Greets for Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney will no longer be happening.
Dates had been announced for Melbourne on July 15, Sydney on July 16 and Brisbane on July 17. A statement is yet to come from SXSW. At this stage it is unknown if the Meet ‘N’ Greets will be rescheduled.
