PJ Harvey will return to Australia and New Zealand for shows in January.
The tour will showcase Harvey’s recent album The Hope Six Demolition Project, released in April, that peaked at no 7 in Australia.
‘The Hope Six Demolition Project’ is the ninth PJ Harvey album. The title is a reference to the Hope VI project in the USA where run-down housing in high crime areas has been demolished with previous residents no longer able to afford to live in the new estates leading to claims of ‘social cleansing’.
PJ Harvey’s song ‘The Community of Hope’ is about the situation.
