Placebo End Their First Australian Show With A Kate Bush Cover

by Paul Cashmere on September 7, 2017

in News

Placebo played their first Australian show in Adelaide on Wednesday night after the sudden last-minute cancellation of what was to be the tour opener in Perth on Monday due to illness.

Placebo finished the set with their cover of Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’. The song has been a staple part of the Placebo show for the past decade.

Placebo recorded the song for a bonus disc ‘Covers’ that went with their 2003 album ‘Meds’ but did not play it live until 2006. That album also featured songs by The Pixies, T Rex, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Big Star, Robert Palmer and Boney M.
